Ottawa’s Biggest Basketball Rivalries Are Back!
The Annual Capital Hoops Classic is back and this year it’s taking place inside The Arena at TD Place. For the first time ever, you can witness the biggest basketball rivalries in Ottawa go head to head right here in the heart of Lansdowne.
The Capital Hoops Classic is set to tip-off on February 7th at 6:00pm with the women’s game, followed by the men’s game that will start at 8:00pm. Making its debut in 2007, the Capital Hoops Classic is often referred to as the hottest regular season university basketball event, with last year’s game yielding almost 10,000 fans!
The uOttawa Gee-Gee’s women’s team will look to push their winning streak to two years against the Carleton Ravens. Both teams will be battling for the top spot in the OUA East, with the Ravens already having secured a spot and the Gee-Gees attempting to do the same.
On the men’s side, the Carleton Ravens have been victorious for the past three years. Both the Ravens and the Gee-Gees have been tied for the top spot on the OUA East standings with both teams attempting to secure a national title in the 2020 U SPORTS Final 8 Championships taking place inside The Arena at TD Place in March.
