Thinking Ahead, Giving Back
Chartwells has been an outstanding partner for the Ottawa REDBLACKS and the Ottawa Fury FC for many seasons. Their community involvement is a key organizational value and one that is in alignment with the REDBLACKS and Fury FC, which is evident through their Thinking Ahead, Giving Back initiatives. Chartwells has recently executed three events in collaboration with the teams and TD Place with great success. These events have allowed Chartwells to engage with youth, players, clients, and their staff to ultimately elevate their brand engagement and create more impactful interactions.
This spring, Chartwells begun an initiative where they recognize future leaders and change-makers from Kindergarten to Grade 12 who value giving back to their communities. In partnership with the Ottawa Fury FC, the initiative is presented as Chartwells Community Heroes. These outstanding students are nominated by educators and teachers from local schools who demonstrate one or more of the following criteria – delivering meals to community members in need to tackle food insecurity, supporting social causes by volunteering in their community and/or nourishing futures by helping others to succeed. The selected hero receives four tickets to a Fury FC match, and are featured pre-game on the field highlighting why they are a leader in the community.
In continuation with superior community involvement – on July 16th, Chartwells hosted 100 youth from the Ottawa community for their Chartwells Champion Day. This fun filled afternoon supported their pledge of Thinking Ahead, Giving Back with a focus on youth health and mental well-being. The layout of the day included multiple interactive stations that were led by our very own Fury FC and REDBLACKS players, along with members of the REDBLACKS Cheer Team. The youth rotated each station that comprised of three soccer activities, three football activities, and a cheer activity. After an active afternoon the participants were hosted to a BBQ in The Subaru Log Cabin. Each participant received a co-branded T-shirt, water bottle, and tickets to a Fury FC game and a REDBLACKS game.
At the beginning of the month Chartwells engaged their staff and clients in a VIP Soccer Tournament. This tournament was held at TD Place and was delivered in a 3 vs. 3 format with each team being coached by a Fury FC player. With heart, hustle, and competiveness showcased during the tournament, a post event was favorable – all participants were hosted to a mix and mingle in Otto’s Club. This event served as a great touchpoint and networking event for Chartwells and their VIP clients in and around the Ottawa and Toronto areas.
Chartwells has clearly demonstrated an admirable reputation through community and client connection – and one that will continue to be demonstrated in future seasons to come.
